“American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 – Impact on Central Iowa Schools
Wednesday, April 28, at 4:30 PM
The April 14 Town Hall provided an overview of the “American Rescue Plan Act of 2021” and its impact of counties, cities and school districts.
The US Department of the Treasury has until May 10 to issue details, guidance and specifics regarding implementation. Further analysis of the Act’s impact on Central Iowa cities and counties will be provided when available.
The details of the funding coming to school districts have been more clearly defined and were the topic of discussion on Wednesday, April 28. Down loads of the presentations follow.
One interesting fact considered: the formula used to distribute the funds recently resulted in the Des Moines district receiving approximately 30 times as much money as the Waukee district, although the enrollment in the Des Moines district is less than 3 times that of the Waukee district.
Topics considered:
- An overview of the Act regarding school funding.
- What is the funding formula being utilized?
- How will the school district use the money?
- Things on which the money can NOT be used.
- Dialog
